The basic Trane Comprehensive Chiller-Heater System packages best-in-class air-to-water heat pump equipment and controls and applies technical expertise to deliver an industry-leading electrified solution for almost any building. This electrified system works with many existing hydronic airside systems, offering configurations and options to fit a variety of applications.
This innovative cold climate heat pump system captures and stores excess heat energy from inside the building and outdoor air for use the next day. Heat energy is stored and dispatched in thermal energy storage tanks— “ice tanks.” The ability to store heat enables the system to work effectively in very cold climates. It is also an ideal fit in dense urban areas where limited rooftop space can’t accommodate large rooftop equipment.
